Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) – Initial Course

Northwest Arctic Region EMS is proud to offer the Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) Initial Course, taught by State of Alaska– certified instructors. ETT training is widely used across Alaska and can be tailored to meet the needs of communities, high school programs, Community Health Aide Practitioners (CHAP), and industry partners.

This class is intended for students who have never completed ETT certification or for those whose previous ETT card is expired by more than 12 months and are no longer eligible for renewal. The course includes the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers, and both ETT and BLS certifications are valid for two years from the date of issue.

About Your AHA BLS Certification

AHA eCards are issued within 30 days of course completion. Maniilaq Regional EMS can assist with eCard questions within the first 90 days. If an eCard is not claimed within 90 days, students may be required to retake the course.

Attendance

Alaska requires completion of all course objectives to be eligible for State testing. Attendance of at least 90% of course hours is mandatory. There is no built-in time to make up missed classes, and punctuality is expected. If you must miss class, contact the instructor immediately to discuss possible options for meeting objectives.

Student Conduct

Students must arrive for all classes and skills sessions free of drugs or alcohol. Anyone appearing under the influence or otherwise impaired will not be permitted to participate and may be immediately dismissed from the course at the instructor’s discretion.
