Emergency Trauma Technician (ETTR) – Refresher Course

Northwest Arctic Region EMS is pleased to offer the Emergency Trauma Technician Refresher Course (ETTR). This course is designed for students who have previously completed an ETT course and are seeking renewal of their certification.

Students are eligible to renew at any time while their ETT certification is current, and for up to 12 months after expiration. This course also includes the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers. Both ETT and BLS certifications are valid for two years from the date they are issued.

About Your AHA BLS eCard

You do not have an active BLS certification until you claim your eCard through the American Heart Association (AHA). eCard links will be sent to the email address you provide during online registration, so please make sure that email is correct and accessible.

Once claimed, all of your AHA certifications (such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.) are stored in your AHA account and can be downloaded as PDFs whenever you need them.

AHA eCards are typically issued within 30 days of the class completion date. Maniilaq Regional EMS is happy to assist if you have questions or problems claiming your eCard during the first 90 days. If you do not claim your eCard within that time, you may be required to retake the course.

Attendance

Alaska requires completion of all course objectives to be eligible for State testing. Attendance of at least 90% of course hours is mandatory. There is no built-in time to make up missed classes, and punctuality is expected. If you must miss class, contact the instructor immediately to discuss possible options for meeting objectives.

Student Conduct

Students must arrive for all classes and skills sessions free of drugs or alcohol. Anyone appearing under the influence or otherwise impaired will not be permitted to participate and may be immediately dismissed from the course at the instructor’s discretion.
